Description

Duties: Process and manage grants. Perform special projects as assigned by the Director and/or the Deputy Director. Participate in assigned administrative support functions; participate in various specialized departments programs; attend and participate in department or division meetings and events. Provide highly responsible administrative staff assistance involving conducting research for a wide range of  municipal policies involving organization, procedures, finance and services. Collect, compile and analyze information from various sources on a variety of specialized topics related to assigned programs; prepare reports which present and interpret data and identify alternatives and recommendations. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: Equivalent to a Bachelors Degree form an accredited college or university and college level course work in business administration, public administration, accounting finance or a related field. Five years of increasingly responsible professional accounting, or budgeting experience, preferably in municipal or public accounting.

 

 

 

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES:

Within six (6) months from date of employment, must establish residence within the City of Jackson.

PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.
