Duties: Diagnose, repair and maintain electronic instrumentation at the water treatment plant facilities, the water well stations and the water tanks. Inspect transmitters, gauges and receivers; adjust, calibrate, maintain and repair as necessary. Example: clean and lubricate all electromechanical devices in the plant. Visually inspect water tank cathodic protection readings; record readings; prepare related report for Superintendent. Maintain proper and adequate chlorine and fluoride solutions at water wells; replace defective lines and fittings; repair pumps and lines; clean chlorinators and change valves as necessary. Perform other duties us assigned.
Qualifications: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in maintenance and repair of electromechanical instrumentation. Two years of responsible experience inspecting and maintaining electromechanical instrumentation at water treatment plants. Possession of, or ability to obtain within eighteen months of employment, a valid Class D Water Works Certificate.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR CITY EMPLOYEES:
Within six (6) months from date of employment, must establish residence within the City of Jackson.
PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENT SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.
