Job Title/Grade:     Senior Manager, Financial Operations (Grade 11)

Reports to:             President, DAI Global Health

Function of the Position:

The Senior Manager, Financial Operations is a full-time, professional role responsible for leading a range of financial and business activities to support the growth and effective management of the DAI Global Health business unit. This role includes management responsibility for unit-level financial analyses and budget/forecasting, M&A support, business planning, and proposal pricing. The role requires calm under pressure of meeting tight deadlines, extreme attention to detail, and consistently accurate, high quality financial analyses.   

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Business Unit Financial Management

Review the overall financial performance of the business unit and assess areas of financial and overall performance risk. Conduct and oversee business unit analyses and reporting including corporate budgeting, monthly financial analysis, reforecasting, variance analysis, pipeline analysis, and graphical summaries of business unit financial performance.

  • Business Planning

Lead business unit financial planning and forecasting as part of annual corporate-wide planning processes.

  • Project Financial Support

Support project management teams in establishing and tracking project budgets, internal and external reporting on project financials, and reforecasting estimates to complete.

  • Strategic Growth

Provide M&A support including financial analysis of target companies (P&L, balance sheet, cash flows, forecasts), developing acquisition pricing and ROI models, conducting financial due diligence, and implementing financial integration of acquired businesses. Includes analyzing potential minority investments the organization may make.

  • Pricing

Lead proposal pricing including designing price-to-win strategies, developing and documenting pricing templates, implementing sound estimation techniques, preparing detailed, auditable pricing spreadsheets, ensuring appropriate approvals, preparing final price proposal spreadsheets for submission, and writing full business proposal narrative describing estimation methodology and assumptions.

  • Continuous Process Improvement

 Oversee the business unit financial process improvement initiatives, implementing industry best practices, developing metrics for measuring effectiveness and efficiency while meeting the business needs, and providing internal training and learning to business unit staff. Document financial management processes for the business unit.

  • Other ad-hoc business analyses

Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 11:  Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or mathematics and 11 years of relevant professional experience OR Master’s degree in business or finance or mathematics and 9 years of relevant professional experience
  • Basic understanding of principles of accounting
  • High proficiency in MS excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, tables and graph production) and in MS PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to write precisely and concisely
  • Ability to influence and work in a support role
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and under high pressure
  • Business innovation and creativity mindset

Equivalent education and experience will be considered.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred
  • Experience in US Government contract pricing and business preferred.\
  • Working knowledge of MS Project preferred.
