DAI is seeking a Oracle Business Systems Analyst to join our busy IT Team. The position will be based in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.  Become part of the thriving DAI business, recently relocated to spacious, bespoke offices, 30 minutes out of Euston - with excellent rail and motorway links to London and region.


Main purpose of role:  

The role of the Oracle Technical Support Specialist is to support the daily operations of the Oracle R12 E-Business Suite (EBS) of applications for the DAI Europe business unit. The primary focus is on the support, troubleshooting and testing of various modules in a post-production environment. The position reviews and resolves problems, tests new functionality, and works with end users to ensure the solution provides the expected benefits. The position also analyzes requirements and advises on the best implementation of new requirement, resolves problems, enhances the applications for greater business benefit and/or changes to business requirements, and works with end users to ensure the modifications provide the expected benefits. The resource will liaise closely with DAI Bethesda-based colleagues to ensure fixes and enhancement are co-ordinated and comply with DAI company objectives. The resource will also support DAI projects located in Africa and the Middle East from a time zone closer to their own. This position is based in Apsley, UK and reports to the Director of Information Technology based in the United States.

Occasional travel to DAI Global’s US and other locations may be required. This position does not have any supervisory requirements.

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for responding to and resolving Oracle connectivity and system issues faced by the business users in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with end users and technical support to assist in the design and development of reports.
  • Work with hosting provider as well as Oracle support, as needed, to resolve bugs/issues. Log and Track Oracle Service Requests (SRs) as necessary.
  • Ability to interact with users at all levels; programmers, DBAs, business users and senior management.
  • Ability to prioritize issues based on level of impact to the business.


  • Deal with fellow DAI employees to address any Oracle issues.
  • Deal with Oracle hosting provider and Oracle Support to troubleshoot more complex issues.


  • Support the following EBS modules: Financial (General Ledger, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, iProcurement/Purchasing, iExpense), Projects, HR, and Time and Labor
  • Troubleshoot workflows that support the Financial and Purchasing modules.
  • Support Planning Budgeting Cloud Servcies (ePBCS) (Hyperion) reporting issues and scheduled processes.
  • Support BI Publisher and WebADI reporting.
  • Perform basic SQL queries (must have knowledge of tables, views and packages related to the Financials, Projects and Purchasing modules).
  • Produce functional specifications for Reports, Interfaces, Workflows, Alerts, Extensions, Conversions and Enhancements.


Qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience:


  • Experience and working knowledge of Oracle Financial, Projects and Purchasing modules to include the Procure-to-Pay process/workflows.
  • Solid understanding of EBusiness Suite of applications.
  • Ability to analyze system configuration settings, parameters, and data to troubleshoot complex system issues.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Oracle Workflows and Alerts.
  • Experience with Oracle Applications R12.1.3
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work independently and under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and functional audiences.
  • Commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Sensitivity in dealing with confidential information.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi task.


  • Oracle Application Express (APEX).
  • Technical understanding of EBS modules


The salary offered for the Oracle Business Systems Analyst will be commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will work alongside colleagues in the DAI Europe offices in Apsley, Hertfordshire.
