Outline of the Programme:

“Methodological and Knowledge Sharing Support for EU External Interventions (“MKS Contract”)

The overall objective of the contract is to provide support and technical assistance to the Directorate General for International Cooperation and Developments (DG DEVCO) to improve quality, coherence and effectiveness of EU interventions in international cooperation through increased knowledge, reinforced capacities, enhanced working methodologies and skills of EU staff in Headquarters and Delegations.

Objectives of the role:

She/he  is in charge of  assisting the management and coordination of the contract activities. She/he will closely work with the Activity Coordinator.

Length of the project: 12 months renewed up to 3 times (220 working days)

Start Date:  2nd of May 2019

Project Location: Brussels, Belgium

Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least a University degree (Bachelor 3 years+ master degree or 4 years University degree) in a relevant discipline (such as social sciences, law, political science, administration and management, economics, development cooperation) or equivalent professional experience of minimum 5 years.
  • Project management/assistance skills
  • Fluency in English and French (Cl/C2 level). Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese will be an asset
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a multicultural environment.

General Professional Experience:

  • At least 3 years of successful experience in development cooperation and/or support services for development cooperation.

Specific Professional Experience:

  • At least 3 years of successful experience in assisting in the implementation of large scale interventions (min. EUR 1 million) in an international environment or assisting coordinating tasks in service contracts.
  • Knowledge in project cycle management
  • Experience with EU funded operations will be an asset.
  • Field experience in regions covered by EU Cooperation (Africa, Asia & Pacific, Latin America & Caribbean, European Neighborhood) will be considered an asset.
