Outline of the Programme:

“Methodological and Knowledge Sharing Support for EU External Interventions (“MKS Contract”)

The overall objective of the contract is to provide support and technical assistance to the Directorate General for International Cooperation and Developments (DG DEVCO) to improve quality, coherence and effectiveness of EU interventions in international cooperation through increased knowledge, reinforced capacities, enhanced working methodologies and skills of EU staff in Headquarters and Delegations.

Objectives of the role:

She/he will be in charge of drafting a development and rollout strategy for knowledge sharing & dissemination of relevant outputs. She/he will also recommend and support the implementation of strategies to enhance groups (and support their evolution  into Communities of Practice). She/he will be supporting in particular group administrators.

Length of the project: 12 months renewed up to 3 times ( Part-time 110 working days)

Start Date:  2nd of May 2019

Project Location: Brussels, Belgium

Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least a University degree (Bachelor 3 years + master degree or 4 years University degree) in a relevant field (such as project/programme management, communication, capacity building, international relations/development cooperation) or equivalent professional experience of minimum 12 years.
  • Fluency in English and French (Cl/C2 level). Knowledge  of Spanish and/or Portuguese will be an asset.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a multicultural environment and across sectors and thematic areas

General Professional Experience:

  • At least 10 years of working experience in knowledge sharing.

Specific Professional Experience:

  • At least 5 years in designing and implementing Knowledge Sharing (KS) strategies for international organisations.
  • At least 3 years of experience in developing and/or managing specific tools (including digital tools) for knowledge sharing and capacity building purposes.
  • At least 2 years of experience in creating and/or supporting digital learning communities of practice and digital groups' animation.
  • Good knowledge of EU international cooperation and development policy, instruments and implementation modalities will be considered an asset
  • Field experience in the regions covered by EU Cooperation (Africa, Asia & Pacific, Latin America & Caribbean, European Neighbourhood) will be considered an asset
