Job Title/Grade:            Associate Analyst/Analyst, DAI Sustainable Business Group (5/6)

Department:                   Sustainable Business Group (SBG)

Reports to:                     Manager, SBG

Function of the Position:

This is a full-time, professional position that will contribute to the DAI Sustainable Business Group (DAI/SBG). DAI/SBG is a specialized unit that leads DAI’s engagements with clients in the oil, gas, mining, power, and renewable energy sectors.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

The percentages below are illustrative and may evolve and/or change depending on the company’s needs.

 

Specific responsibilities will include:

1.   Knowledge Management and Product Development (30%)

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of marketing materials and knowledge management products. This includes assisting the team in the development and management of a branding strategy related to DAI’s extractives work by coordinating efforts with our strategy and branding consultants and serving as the point of contact for the consultant team.
  • Under the supervision and direction of the Manager coordinate the efforts of external consultants and assist in developing marketing content.
  • Manage SBG’s technical library by ensuring information is updated, relevant, and easily accessible.

2.  New Business (20%)

  • Coordinate new business efforts by working with other technical experts to draft technical proposals, provide input for budgets, coordinate with partners, and recruit project staff.
  • Conduct research to identify projects that afford positive value propositions to DAI and perform outreach to engage prospective clients.  Responsible for performing client relationship management activities including weekly client emails and outreach, content dissemination, workshop, meeting and event coordination to ensure a robust, relevant, and actively engaged client pool.

3.  Technical Delivery (10%)

  • Manage the project schedule of, and provide quality control for, technical deliverables.
  • Conduct background research and provide written inputs to technical deliverables.
  • Review, edit, and format PowerPoint decks, reports, briefs, and economic models and compile in Excel for quantitative analysis. 

4.  Project Management (40%)

  • Under the direction of the Manager, draft and process consultant contracts, subcontract agreements, and project budgets, etc.
  • Collaborate with Finance Department to review and process project invoices in Oracle.
  • Assist with logistics for project technical teams, including making travel arrangements as well as organizing and facilitating events to engage partners, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Provide inputs to SBG’s financial business plan, as needed.

Additional duties as deemed necessary.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 5: 2 years of professional work experience and a Bachelor’s degree; OR a Master’s degree.
  • Grade 6: 3 years of professional work experience and a Bachelor’s degree; OR 1 year of professional work experience and a Master’s degree.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible, and team-focused work environment.
  • Willing and able to travel internationally and domestically (up to 10%).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with business development and/or proposal management.
  • Advanced working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Eagerness to work in a start-up environment
  • Fluency in French, Portuguese, or Spanish
  • Experience with project management practices and software.
  • Familiarity with the oil, gas, and mining industries

This is a full-time, professional position that will contribute to the DAI Sustainable Business Group (DAI/SBG). DAI/SBG is a specialized unit that leads DAI’s engagements with clients in the oil, gas, mining, power, and renewable energy sectors.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

The percentages below are notional and may change depending on business needs.

 

1. Corporate Client Business/Relationship Development (40%)

  • Participate in identifying new business opportunities and conduct market and client research.  Make recommendations to the Manager as to which opportunities to pursue and provide recommendations as to the best pathway forward.
  • Coordinate new business efforts by developing strategies, creating marketing material, drafting technical components of proposals, and working with other technical experts to craft technical proposal responses.
  • Support the team to cultivate and develop strong client relationships through various mediums by helping arrange and manage meetings, emails, phone calls, networking events, and proactive follow-up communications.
  • Serve as point of contact for sub-set of clients and manage weekly communications and outreach with select clients.

2.  Technical Delivery (30%)

  • Maintain progress of engagements, including managing the schedule of technical deliverables, budgets and deliverable schedule.
  • Generate inputs, edits, research, and analysis on various technical outputs.
  • Conduct research to support technical engagements with clients.
  • Develop PowerPoint decks, reports, briefs, and models in Excel.  Work will support ongoing technical engagements in various countries and regions.
  • Assist in generation of technical drafts and deliverables under guidance of Manager.

3.   Project Management (30%)

  • Provide administrative support in reviewing and processing invoices and contracts.
  • Assist with logistics for technical teams, including making travel arrangements.
  • Support and coordinate operations of the group including drafting and processing consultant contracts, sub-contract agreements, pricing strategies, budgets, and cost proposals with guidance from the Manager.
  • Evaluate business progress against targets and report to Manager.
  • Review technical deliverables for quality and accuracy.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 7: 4 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree; or 2 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible, and team-focused work environment
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Experience with business development and/or proposal management
  • Willing and able to travel internationally and domestically (30% or more)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills

Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in start-up organizations
  • Language skills including Spanish and/or French
  • Experience in a technical field preferably in private sector/enterprise development, quantitative and qualitative analysis, value chain/supply chain, and/or extractive industries
  • MPP/MBA or equivalent
