  1. Project Background: 

INVEST is a flexible, rapid buy-in mechanism that allows USAID missions and operating units to quickly and efficiently access the specialized expertise required across industries and geographies to identify, develop, and execute on blended finance solutions. INVEST bolsters the ability of USAID missions and operating units to attract and leverage local and international capital to address development challenges at scale. This strategic engagement with private capital fosters a shift towards enterprise-led development that enhances the efficiency and sustainability of USAID programs. 

 

  1. Role’s Purpose: 

The Activity Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the management of one or two large, multi-year buy-in activities with significant labor and field presence, with support from Strategic Investment Advisor(s), Activity Managers, Buy-In Operations Specialists, technical advisors and the INVEST team. The Activity Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the development of buy-in activity scopes of work and supporting the budgeting and financial management process, in collaboration with the Strategic Investment Advisor and/or Activity Manager as well as the Operations Team, across INVEST’s portfolio. In addition, the Activity Coordinator will provide all necessary procurement and operational support to buy-in activities.   

 

  1. Objectives and Duties 

The Activity Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the management of assigned buy-in activities, and include:

  • Manage and track buy-in activity implementation progress by personnel, consultants and subcontractors, ensure it adheres to the approved workplan and deliverable schedule, and troubleshoot deviations, in coordination with the Activity Manager where applicable; 
  • Support development and review of technical deliverables and contribute to subsequent learning; 
  • Provide relationship management support for buy-in activities, liaising between client and implementing partner;
  • Support all matters related to activity implementation, including but not limited to contractual, operational, MEL, reporting, and financial matters; 
  • Provide administrative, procurement, and operational support across all assigned buy-in activities.
  • Ensure assigned buy-in activities are managed in accordance with USAID regulations and DAI procurement policies; 
  • Liaise with implementing parties to ensure proper M&E data capture and data quality to contribute to overall INVEST project M&E reporting; and 
  • Support relevant technical staff to generate buy-in scopes of work, statement of objectives, and budgets as needed;

 

  1. Qualifications 
  • 3-5 years of prior work experience working on large-scale USAID-funded development projects 
  • Exhibited experience in budget, operational, and process management and command of DAI systems and policies 
  • Proven project management, communications, writing and interpersonal skills 
  • Sound problem solving and decision-making skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast moving, fluid team setting with multiple stakeholders 
  • Eligible to live and work in the US
