The Lead Building Maintenance Technician (LBMT) is responsible for assisting the Clinic Managers with the overall maintenance of three clinics: Seattle, South King County (Renton) and REACH (Belltown).

Job Functions Include:

  • Under the direction of the Clinic Managers, the LBMT will survey/monitor the conditions of the three facilities and make suggestions for effective cost-efficient repairs and improvements.

  • Ensure overall building systems are in proper working condition, i.e. HVAC, backup generators, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, ADA entry and garage doors, elevators, lifts and entrance/exit gates to ensure safety and general functionality for both staff and Patients/Clients.

  • Ensure interior/exterior building reflects proper upkeep to keep walls freshly painted and trimmed, floors maintained, signage etc.

  • Refresh offices with patch and paint for new staff prior to their start date.

  • Distribute keys to new employees, track keys, maintain or rebuild new keys.

  • Distribute parking permits to employees that utilize the ancillary parking lot on Airport Way.

  • Arrange to meet with building inspectors to include but not limited to - fire suppression, fire extinguishers, elevators, or as needed.

  • Perform or arrange for exterior work which could include small landscaping, tree trimming, weed eradication and mulching.

  • Work with IT leadership to help install data cabling through walls, ceilings or floors per the IT requests.

  • Mobile Medical Van repairs:  Works with Public Safety Supervisor to provide general oversight and maintenance to mobile van to include: RV interior, fiberglass panels, minor mechanical and electrical systems, basic equipment install,  and finish work.

  • Weekly Project coordination with Clinic management to discuss priorities (vendors and/or other maintenance staff).

  • Work with Clinic Managers to solicit, compare and analyze bids, meet with contractors, and prepare proposals for final decision.

  • General maintenance repairs- doors, locks, walls, floors and basic plumbing (clogged drains, minor leak repairs, faucet replacement, etc.)

  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests which may require work in the evenings, weekends and holidays. 

  • Upon request the LBMT may from time to time assist with major and minor event set-up to include All-staff meetings and holiday events.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in small to midsize companies performing overall building maintenance to include: carpentry, minor construction, exterior/interior facilities upkeep (painting, plumbing, handyman work) on a routine basis. 

  • Valid driver's license and insured vehicle

Preferred:

  • Associate degree

  • Maintenance/Facilities certification or apprenticeship

  • Experience in buildings/facilities maintenance in a clinical setting
