Job Function Includes:

  • Administer health and welfare plans as well as works with retirement plan

  • Process required documentation to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions, for newly eligible employees and at the agency’s annual open enrollment period

  • Manage the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ACA) process for the agency

  • Conduct the Benefits portion of New Hire Orientations to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefits

  • Counsel employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed decisions on benefits

  • Resolve employee concerns related to health and welfare plans functioning as liaison with various insurance carriers

  • In coordination with HR Director, BHS will work with Insurance Broker and various insurance carriers at appropriate times of year on Insurance options and plans

  • Manage implementation/ maintenance of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS-   PayNW).

  • Coordinates with Payroll department to process changes in all employment statuses and generating accurate/timely payroll cycles

  • Supports the Human Resources long term goals and objectives


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in human resources, business or organization development

  • 1-2 years progressive experience in Human Resources position

  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of benefits administration

  • Strong understanding of state and federal employment requirements and regulations
