General Summary of Job Duties

The Facilities Technician II is responsible for maintaining the motel property and completing minor administrative duties as assigned.  Maintenance responsibilities include routine-difficulty maintenance of the interior and exterior to ensure the upkeep of the facility and guest safety.  The administrative responsibilities include responding to guest requests for assistance.

Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties

Maintain a high quality of guest service according to Jacobs Entertainment, Inc. Mission Statement and F.A.S.T. Track Values Statement.
Performs routine maintenance on building interior and exterior.
Maintains a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when next service is due.
Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations.  Take appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in the building.
Maintain adherence to all company policies and procedures.
Must live on site at the property.
Thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future.
Adhere to all appearance and uniform standards.
Maintain an open line of communication with Management.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with guest, fellow Employees, and Vendors.
Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
Regular attendance and arriving on time to all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings.
Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education and Other Requirements

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
5 years relevant building maintenance.
Days and hours of work vary and are of an on-call nature.
Effective time management skills
Ability to work alone, working independently to complete required tasks.
Ability to troubleshoot, adjust and repair selected equipment.
Must be proficient and versatile in general maintenance.
Basic reading and writing abilities.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Communication skills that contribute to smooth working relationships with co-workers and guests.
Ability to remain calm and professional when under pressure.
Ability to work safely with power tools.
Proficiency with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Must be able to read and write English.
Some technical or commercial training necessary.
