Smythe LLP is seeking a highly motivated and team oriented Senior Accountant to join our private company group in our office based in the heart of downtown Vancouver. There is a wealth of opportunity for development and growth in this role as our firm continues to expand.

THE OPPORTUNITY 

As a member of the Assurance Group, you will work directly with clients, Managers and Partners to deliver assurance and advisory services. The ideal candidate will be a Senior Accountant, with a minimum of three years experience in public practice, specializing in private companies.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Conduct external audits and interim reviews of publicly listed clients.
• Review and or prepare financial statements and accompanying notes.
• Prepare corporate tax returns.
• Assess financial and systems controls.
• Provide exceptional service to our clients.
• Train and develop junior staff.
• Lead teams and manage engagements.
• Participate in, and contribute to, the attainment of team objectives.

REQUIREMENTS

• CPA, CA with a minimum of three years experience in public practice.
• Experience using CaseWare is preferred.
• Proven abilities in the areas of accounting, assurance, and tax compliance services.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in teams and individually.
• A desire to learn and adapt in a challenging environment.
