Manager of Sales Operations

Position Summary:

Manage a Sales Operations team responsible for in-depth analytics and process enhancements.  Create proposals and actions to continually improve Sales understanding of the business and field performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, propose, and implement creative solutions to improve sales operations processes, reduce cost, and enhance productivity. 
  • Define and lead the execution of sales operations projects related to topics such as, field manager performance, contact management tools, analytical relationships between payers and booked revenue, growth problem detection, and commission management.
  • Create and direct a comprehensive department project management system and coordinate that system with cross-functional team commitments.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives between reimbursement, customer support, and the field sales team.
  • Drive innovation to expand automation systems focused on swift, high-quality resolution of field-reported problems such as those involving booked revenue credit, expense management, and orders.
  • Manage internal and external partnerships to drive initiatives and to meet schedule commitments.
  • Develop ongoing improvements to the sales metrics system.
  • Drive innovative analytical solutions that enhance field understanding and improve the relevance of sales operations initiatives to field sales concerns.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees in the Sales Operations Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Educations and/or Experience:

  • Undergraduate college degree and significant work experience in complex analytics for operation-oriented systems and/or in sales operations.  If experience is in sales operations, then that experience should include demonstration of high-level analysis and strategic thinking. 
  • Direct leadership experience managing large projects from conception to execution.  Demonstrated ability to work through a large matrix organization to bring complex projects to conclusion. 

Language Skills:                                                                                                                                                                               

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:                                                                                                                                                        

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

Reasoning Ability:                                                                                                                                                                            

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems and make appropriate judgment calls to insure the correct outcome.

Computer Skills:                                                                                                                                                                               

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
