We are seeking a Director of Quality Control  to join our team!


Scope of the Position: Responsible for oversight of Atlantic Bay’s  Quality Control  function  to ensure compliance with all State  and  Federal regulations , and agency and investor guidelines.  Plan and maintain systems and procedures for operating efficiency , this includes day to day vendor oversight for QC outsourcing arrangements.  Coach and lead staff to maintain optimum performance  for sound audit results. This p osition reports directly to the  Deputy Chief Operating Officer with periodic reporting to the Governance, Risk, and Compliance Committee . Director will make recommendations and report findings and trended data to  the Committee  quarterly. Director will discuss findings, red flags and trends in a training capacity with all Departments as opportunity for improvement. Director will work with all departments to implement any new process, policy or system after approval from Executive Team. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures/workflows adhering to all Federal, State and Agency laws and regulations, ensure compliance across all departments and company branch locations. 
  • Manage Quality Control  Function  in accordance with  agency and investor guidelines  Quality Control Plan, including Pre-funding and Post Closing QC; manage action plan; work with Quality Assurance Vendor. 
  • Tasked with Partnering with the Audit Manager to ensure corrective actions and findings from audit, agency, and state examinations are addressed in a timely manner. 
  • Responsible for  oversight of the  rebuttal of 3rd party vendor QC findings to include providing missing documentation and writing rebuttal responses in effort to clear as many issues as possible at 1st round. 
  • Responsible for bringing any serious or critical findings that cannot be cleared to department manager for review with possible further escalation to  the Deputy COO . 
  • Responsible for scheduling, preparing for and inviting parties to any necessary rebuttal calls with QC vendor. 
  • Responsible for reporting of final findings. 
  • Responsible for the management of the pre-funding team and work with department manager on any findings in pre-funding to resolve issues while not impeding the closing timeframe unnecessarily. 
  • Ability to lead/manage a team of  5 or more  direct reports.


Knowledge, Education and/or Experience 

  • College degree preferred 
  • Minimum of 10 years’ mortgage experience 
  • Minimum  years in  Audit or  QC Management role 
  • In  depth knowledge of  Regulations and Agency Guidelines 


  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and LOS systems, experience with Byte a plus. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strategic and  Critical Thinking 
  • High integrity  and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
