CONCRETE FOREMAN/ SENIOR FOREMAN
Position oversees assigned concrete construction projects and is responsible for the successful job execution through management of people, materials and equipment within Northern Concrete Construction’s expectations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Develop high performing concrete construction crews
Understand, live, teach, and uphold NCC Expectations
Manage hours, talent, and communication to maximize profitability
Lead and enforce safety on job sites
Facilitate effective work huddles (at a minimum) before work begins in the morning and at the end of the work day
Ensure equipment is maintained respectfully
Responsible for time tracking for crew members (Clocking in and out, attendance communication, etc.)
Participate in pre-job planning meetings as well as after action reviews
Communicate job status update appropriately (Including calls with Supervisor, daily status update, etc.)
Enforce Northern Concrete Process
Troubleshoot issues that arise in job
Take an active role in training and developing talent
Be able to read concrete plans and effectively delegate tasks to accomplish a quality product
Manage job schedule to ensure timeline expectations are met, as well as project completing at or below budget
Process required paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion (properly use Fast Field Forms)
Responsible for maintaining job site safety and DOT compliance (including e-logs)
Assist with effectively transitioning new hires into the NCC culture
Assist other foreman on projects as needed
Oversee multiple projects as needed
Assist with Training and Development program
Individual must have a very good understanding of the essential duties for all the positions they are responsible for overseeing
Must be able to understand how he/she fits into the overall system to be successful as the leader of a crew AND as a member of the bigger picture team
Display leadership ability and/or the willingness to learn leadership skills
Must have valid, insurable CDL
Receive and give constructive feedback
Displays all abilities of Laborers through Leadmen
Able to accurately pour concrete according to a CAD drawing
Concrete construction applicable math skills
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS OF THE WORKPLACE
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work in outdoor weather conditions which can include extreme heat or cold and/or precipitation. The employee may be exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration, and loud noise levels in the work environment. The employee may be subject to working in high, precarious places.
Employees are subject to participating in all the required safety programs to address the hazards that may be associated with the job.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds (For Wall crew: Frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 150 pounds)
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
The employee is frequently required to talk or hear
The employee is occasionally required to sit
The ability to travel throughout the State of WI and the US is required
