CONCRETE FINISHER/FINISHING FOREMAN

Position requires individuals to work on construction projects requiring the pouring and finishing of concrete.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS  

  1. Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
  2. Able to use all finishing tools (hand and power)
  3. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
  4. Dismantle forms after use, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts
  5. Tend to generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment
  6. Apply cleaning solvents
  7. Install insulating materials (blankets)
  8. Mix mortar, grout, slurry, concrete, or related material
  9. Move materials or goods between work areas by hand
  10. Prepare building surfaces for sealants
  11. Prepare site or surfaces for concrete work
  12. Apply sealers and sawcut
  13. Inspect forms for problems or defects
  14. Oversee job specific finishing duties

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

REQUIRED ABILITIES

  1. Valid driver’s license (Highly Preferred)
  2. Follow directions, take orders
  3. Read a tape measure
  4. Read a level
  5. Follow production and safety processes
  6. Basic small engine knowledge

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS OF THE WORKPLACE

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work in high, precarious places; and outdoor weather conditions which can include extreme heat or cold and/or precipitation. The employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 150 pounds
  2. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  3. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  4. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear
  5. The employee is occasionally required to sit

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  1. The ability to travel throughout the State of WI (up to one week at a time)
  2. The ability to travel outside of the State of WI (up to two weeks at a time)
  3. Availability to work different shifts, including nights and weekends
  4. As directed by manager
