The City of Fort Worth – Municipal Court is seeking a qualified candidate to supervise, assign, review and participate in the work of employees responsible for performing a variety of clerical, administrative and financial duties in support of the Municipal Court; to ensure work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; and to perform the more technical and complex tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

The successful candidate will manage, oversee and coordinate various operations/sections of the Clerk of the Court Division to include the downtown Financial Management, Southwest Municipal Court, Student Attendance Court; and other areas as assigned. This position will provide direct administrative support to the Clerk of the Court; including but not limited to preparing reports, presentations, research, and process analysis.  This position reports directly to the Clerk of the Court and will serve in an acting role in the absence of the Clerk of the Court; due to training or vacation.  The successful candidate must have a strong background and understanding in the core Court processes. They must be able to develop and maintain high level reports and have the ability to manage multiple complex processes, projects and deadlines. Additionally, candidates for this position must be well versed and knowledgeable in computer software.  This position involves heavy telephone and direct public contact to resolve customer issues.   Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with internal and external customers as well as other city department personnel.

The Municipal Court operates 24 hours per day seven days per week, this includes weekends and holidays. The incumbent must commit to the possibility of working any shift within a 24 hour period, any day of the week, as needed.

Preference may be given to applicants that possess the following:

  • Higher levels of education, experience and certifications as related to the vacancy

  • Skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and computer skills required

  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Extensive experience as a supervisor in assigning work, addressing personnel issues, guiding and directing a diverse staff

The following education and/or experience are the minimum standards which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position:

Bachelor’s degree in a Criminal Justice, Business or Public Administration and five years of Municipal Court, business process, and financial experience including two years of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the position may qualify.
Valid Texas Driver’s License

Must be able to pass a CJIS fingerprint background check
