The FMI Internship Program is offered to students currently registered in a degree program. It is a 10-12 week summer commitment, Full Time, 40 hours/week. Interns will gain a greater understanding of FMI through challenging project based work, Lunch & Learns with company executives, and the chance to connect with all employees by attending many other company-wide events. 

About The Job

The Intern, Commercial Data Strategy supports and actively participates on a cross-functional team of product managers, data scientists, design researchers and commercial team members. The team informs new product development and refines the commercial approach to data products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the product Life Cycle Leaders to identify goals and develop a project plan.
  • Develop hypotheses to test.
  • Build a market research plan, conduct primary research, and collect secondary research.
  • Synthesize market research to identify key trends and challenges in the marketplace.
  • Develop content that represents research findings in a succinct, digestible format.
  • Seek feedback from stakeholders to validate findings or suggest changes.
  • Assess findings and confirm hypotheses.
  • Make recommendations within the context of FMI commercial and corporate strategy.
  • Review and present recommendations with Lifecycle Leaders and Data Product team.
  • Participate activities that augment the Data Product team’s messaging in the industry.
  • Other projects as periodically assigned. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in an accredited graduate degree program pursuing an MBA or an MS in Health Sciences, Hospital Management or related field.
  • 2+ years of work experience in an analytical, problem-solving strategic function.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences, biomedical engineering or a healthcare field.
  • Experience in the biopharmaceutical, medical device industry; or a hospital or research center.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that include excellent skills in written communication, oral communication, collaboration, and problem solving with other departments and colleagues.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data.
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential information.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain flexible with changing priorities.
