Internews is seeking a full time Information Security Advisor to drive the development and implementation of an open source digital security framework for civil society organizations. The Information Security Advisor will be a leader in advancing a community-based, Creative Commons‑licensed framework for improving the organizational security of human rights defenders and independent media outlets around the world. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to assess organizational risks and threats to civil society organizations in high-risk environments, as well as information security risk management practices. She or he will be able to explain complex technical subjects clearly and kindly to non-technological audiences, while maintaining and building excellent relationships with counterparts and donors in the digital security community.

This position is based in Washington, DC. Salary is negotiable, but Internews is unable to cover relocation costs. International travel will be required for this position.
Our hiring process for this position reflects guidance from The Management Center and Project Include. Candidates should submit a resume or CV, but need not submit a cover letter.
